We currently have several opportunities to work directly with Elementary schoolers during the school day this spring. We call our in-classroom volunteers Educators, and we ask our educators to commit 2 or more hours each week for the duration of our weekly programming, which in this case is 6 weeks. The requirements for being an Art Feeds Educator are 30+ hours of college credit and/or 500 hours of experience with children or some combination of the two. All Educators are fully trained by Art Feeds before programming begins so they can enter the classroom equipped with confidence.

Big Brothers Big Sisters has been the Gold Standard of mentoring since 1904. We take “Littles”, children in our community that need a positive role model and Match them with “Bigs”, adult volunteers in our community that want to change the life of a child for forever.
Awana Children’s Ministry – You will be responsible for playing games with or helping serve dinner to children grades k-6th. Contact a week prior to when you’re wanting to volunteer.

(Foster kid non-profit clothing bank) Assistance is needed to help unpack donated clothing items and organizing items for foster kid.
Gentiva Hospice in Neosho has volunteering options for those looking to serve in a unique way. Volunteers are trained & then able to provide companionship and support to the patient and their family. Those who are interested must fill out an application having a thorough and full background check, as well as a drug screen to start the Volunteer training process which consists of reading the Volunteer Manual and in person training with the Volunteer Coordinator.
Projects are available throughout the year to provide approximately four hours of volunteer service. Projects and schedules will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Students should call in advance to schedule.

Helping sort food boxes, handle clothing, unload things. Mondays 12-4, Tuesday-Thursday 9am-3pm.
Work in preschool classrooms. Activities include playing, reading, and engaging with children ages 3-5 years in a supervised, high-quality preschool. Ongoing daily opportunities for volunteers from 8am-5pm.
We are looking for some tech-savvy individuals who know how to navigate Zoom well and bilingual is also preferred. Volunteers will help us set up tables and chairs, making sure that our clients are in their correct breakout rooms, and that they are not being kicked out while meeting with the attorneys.

Wish Granters are volunteers that meet with wish kids and their families in pairs to help them determine their one true wish. It’s a very rewarding volunteer experience as you help to make wishes come true to children with critical illnesses. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, complete a background check and will be trained. The volunteer will work with the family to set up visiting times so scheduling is semi-flexible.

MO Department of Conservation The MO Conservation in Southwest MO is ALWAYS looking for a little help! Park maintenance, construction, repair, sign repair etc. Locations in Barry, Barton, Jasper, McDonald and Newton Counties. We look forward to hearing from you!
Our Carthage MOPS and Moms Next group are looking for volunteers for our Moppet program. We need child care providers that are willing to watch our kiddos on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 6pm to 8 pm.

We have a variety of opportunities throughout the year for volunteers. This may range from data entry, community festivals and parades, special events to everything in between.
We are building 2 ICF homes – insulated concrete homes – at 413 Maple street in Neosho. For the first week, we will be stacking styrofoam blocks like legos! We will frame up 2 homes in a week! Habitat homes are built by volunteers and due to the generous donations of community members. After the homes are framed, we will have a variety of things to be done including siding, drywall, painting, etc.
The Genealogy Department at Neosho Newton County Library is looking for volunteers to help with the local obituary index. They need people who are diligent and care about their work. Most of the work is labeling, cutting, and pasting newspaper clippings to large index cards.
