How To Apply To The President’s Leadership Academy
Record a short video OR answer a set of essay questions OR have two high school teachers and one external person (job supervisor, pastor, etc.) recommend you.
Video Guide
- One video submission per person
- Limit submission to two minutes
- Video format should be MP4 (make sure your background is appropriate and lighting and audio are good)
- Email the video to president@crowder.edu
- Put “Your Name – 2024 PLA Video Submission” in the subject line
- Submit your video for the fall semester as soon as possible.
Please include the following in your video submission:
- Your name, name of high school, and what you plan to study at Crowder College (if you aren’t sure, give us an idea of what you are interested in pursuing)
- What do you hope to learn by being a PLA student?
- What do your friends say are your BEST qualities?
- Choose two questions from below to answer
- What makes you the most nervous when it comes to starting college?
- If you were able to visit another country, where would you go and why?
- If you had one superpower what would it be and why?
- You have been asked to host a party for 20 strangers so they can get to know one another better. What would be the theme of the party and how would you get them to interact.
Written Essay Guide

- Essay format should be double-spaced, one-inch margins
- Attach the Word or PDF document to an email and send to president@crowder.edu
- Put “Your Name – 2024 PLA Essay Submission” in the subject line
- Submit your essay before the 4:00 p.m. on July 1, 2024
