RE: Crowder students named to PTK All-Missouri Academic Team

Columbia, MO – Crowder College had two students recognized as Phi Theta Kappa All-Missouri Academic team members: Emma Giebler (Neosho) and Payton Wilson (Greenfield). The students received a medal and certificate and a cash award.

“As a faculty advisor for Crowder College’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter, we would like to express our appreciation to the Missouri Community College Association for hosting this award luncheon. We would also like to congratulate our recipients and note that those chosen for this distinction are selected based on their leadership, academic accomplishments, contributions to the college and community service work.” Stated Suzanne Prior, PTK Advisor

Phi Theta Kappa is the national honor society for associate degree-granting colleges. Crowder College chapter XiXi was established in 1965. To become a member of PTK as student must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average while attending full-time, 12 or more hours. Students meeting the requirements are then sent an invitation to join the organization. One of the major benefits of PTK besides the recognition, is the scholarship opportunities.
