RE: Crowder Surgical Tech students place first in Missouri scrub bowl competition
Cameron, MO – Crowder College surgical technology students won their first ever scrub bowl competition at the Missouri Association of Surgical Technologists annual meeting in Camdenton, Missouri this past weekend.
Students participating in the competition include:
Cadynce Macy (Joplin), Aidan Boydston (Joplin), and Rebecca Stephens (Neosho)
“To say we are excited is an understatement,” reported Melissa Smith, Director of Crowder College – Joplin. “We were able to defeat the reigning 11 year champion school in our third year as a program. The first year of our program they narrowly edged us out by one point.”
The surgical technology program at Crowder College offers students the opportunity to earn an associate of applied science degree and a career working in perioperative settings. The selective program provides successful candidates the requirements to be eligible for the national certification exam upon completion.
