Public Safety Project
Awarded by the Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration in October 2012. This is a Trade Act Assistance Community College and Career Training Grants Program. This program provides training for TAA impacted, unemployed, underemployed, incumbent workers and returning military in the Public Safety Career Pathway including Fire Science, Criminal Justice, Emergency Medicine, and Public Management. Fire Science – Associate Degree of Arts and Associate Degree in Applied Science are both available. Participants may complete the Firefighter I and II certification as part of the degree or separately.
Criminal Justice – Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice (formerly Law Enforcement) and a variety of additional training is available under this project.
Emergency Medicine – Associate Degree of Applied Science in Paramedical Science, Paramedic Certificate and Emergency Medical Certificate are offered under this project.
Public Management – Associate Degree of Arts in Public Management is a new program and will be offered starting in August 2013.
