Neosho, MO – Crowder College Technical Education is holding summer school programs for students going into grades 6-8 at the Dell Reed Technical Education Center. 150 students from Neosho, Seneca, McDonald County & Diamond school districts are in attendance.
The students are on campus daily for four weeks. Each week they get to select a different program. This summer programs include: Intro to Agriculture, Automotive technology, Computer technology, Intro to Engineering, Criminal Justice and Health Science.
Partnerships with the area schools allow the students to be on campus the entire day before being transported back to the school district. The school districts also provide teachers to aid in the curriculum areas of English and math. Students have English and math assignments embedded in their projects while learning more about the career opportunities in these fields.
“This is the 4th summer for this program and each year it continues to draw students for the hands-on experiences they receive,” state David Webber, Director of Crowder Technical Education Center.
Classes continue through June 25, 2021.
