Crowder College Earns 3rd Year Honor Roll in Great Colleges To Work For
Neosho, MO – Crowder College employees knew there were special things about working at the college, but being named one of The Chronicle of Higher Education Great Colleges to Work For 2016 for the third year in a row is quite an accomplishment. The college has been recognized in 2011, 2014, 2015 and now 2016. The Chronicle’s Great Colleges to Work For identifies and examines colleges through a detailed survey of faculty, staff and administrators. This year’s participants included 281 institutions (92 two-year and 189 four-year).
The survey results ranked Crowder College as one of four institutions on its Honor Roll, the stand-outs in their size categories. This year Crowder earned honors in six of the twelve areas: Collaborative Governance, Confidence in Senior Leadership, Teaching Environment (faculty only), Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship, Respect and Appreciation, and Work/Life Balance.
“I have said it the last three years, and I will say it again today: it is the employees — their attitudes, their mutual respect and support, their work ethic, their commitment to the mission of the institution — who make up the quality of any workplace. The Crowder culture was intentionally created and is exceptionally unique, and Crowder College employees work each day to advance and nourish their commitment to that culture,” commented Dr. Jennifer Methvin, President, Crowder College.
“Nine years in, The Chronicle’s Great Colleges to Work For program is well known as a mark of a college or university that puts thought and effort into serving the needs of its faculty and staff,” said Liz McMillen, editor of The Chronicle. “The colleges and universities that make the list are highly rated by their employees for creating great working environments, an important achievement that helps them recruit top academic and administrative talent.”
Great Colleges to Work For is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country. For more information and to view all the results of the survey, visit The Chronicle’s Web site at: http://chronicle.com/AW16.
