HiSET – High School Equivalency Test
As of January 2014 Missouri’s high school equivalency test is the HiSET test, developed by Educational Testing Service (ETS). Test takers can visit ETS’s website to schedule a HiSET test.
The HiSET exam consists of five subtests: Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading – Language Arts, and Writing – Language Arts.
The total cost for all five tests will be $98.75.
- Fee per Subtest (five subtests x $10.75) = $53.75
- Testing Center Fee (five subtests x $7) = $35.00
- Annual State Administration Fee = $10.00
Beginning with the purchase of your first subtest, there is also a $10 state registration fee payable once every 12 months. You can purchase any number of different subtests at the same time. You will receive two retests for each subtest you purchase. If you need to retake a subtest, you pay only the $7 testing center fee. The 12-month testing window will automatically begin once you schedule your first test. Test takers can take subtests up to three times in a calendar year.
HiSET Passing Scores (Examinee will receive his/her certificate by mail if you qualify)
- Scored at least 8 out of 20 on each subtest
- Scored at least 2 out of 6 on the essay
- Examinee must acquire a total of at least 45 out of 100
We offer HiSET tests Monday through Wednesday in the Testing Center located in McDonald Hall, third floor, room 318, on the Neosho campus.
HiSET testing is not offered during the weeks of finals, one week before finals, first week of classes, and one week before classes begin. To see the Crowder College calendar click here.
