RE: Crowder College Technical Education Students Perform Exceptionally During SkillsUSA

Neosho, MO – Several area high school and college students in Crowder’s technical education
programs have spent the month of February demonstrating their learned skills in a competitive
format.

SkillsUSA is the #1 workforce development organization for students. Through the program,
these students become empowered to become skilled professionals, career-ready leaders and
responsible community members, which directly aligns with the vision and mission of Crowder
College. For the area high school students who participate, the program helps prepare them to
further their education, or be able to hit the ground running in a career following their high
school graduation. SkillsUSA is described as America’s proud champion of the skilled trades.

“Crowder College CTEC students competing in SkillsUSA are showcasing the expertise and
hands-on skills they’ve gained through their CTE programs at Crowder,” states Dana Cobb,
Assistant Director of CTE. “These valuable skills set them up for in-demand careers locally and
nationwide. We couldn’t be prouder of their dedication, hard work, and commitment to
becoming the best version of themselves.”

The district SkillsUSA competitions, held throughout the month of February, took place in Joplin,
Carthage and Lamar. Students who placed 1st or 2nd in their contests are eligible to attend the
Missouri SkillsUSA State Conference and Competition in April 2025. The majority of the
participating high school students attend East Newton, Diamond, Neosho, McDonald County,
