RE: Crowder College and Cooper Gear partner to fulfill apprenticeship needs
Anderson, MO – A joint apprenticeship partnership between Crowder College, Cooper Gear, and McDonald County High School was announced Friday, June 17, noon, at Cooper Gear, 310 Mill Street, Anderson, MO.
Cooper Gear along with Crowder College are both registered Department of Labor Apprenticeship programs, but the need for additional training in drafting provided the opportunity for both groups to collaborate.
“This is a win for everyone! Apprenticeships are an industry-driven career pathway that provides on the job experience supplemented with classroom instruction,” stated Dr. Katricia Pierson, Crowder College President. “The opportunity to partner with another apprenticeship program opens doors to create more options when it comes to skilled workers. Our partnership just proves another alternative to providing quality training in our area.
Cooper Gear along with Crowder College are both registered Department of Labor Apprenticeship programs, 2017 and 2015 respectively.
“Manufacturing is the backbone to a great economy; skilled labor is the backbone to manufacturing. The apprenticeship partnership offers the best of both worlds. On the job training at Cooper Gear with high tech classroom training that Crowder provides is a win-win,” commented Shawn Cooper, Director of Operations, Cooper Gear.
Tours of Cooper Gear along with a lunch followed the announcement ceremony.
