Neosho, MO – Crowder College honored 2021 employees of the year in the following categories today at their end of year celebration. The recipients are chosen from nominations submitted to the Neosho Area Chamber of Commerce for selection.
Gold Star Teacher of the Year went to Oren Barnes. Barnes started his career at Crowder College as the Protective Services, Criminal Justice Instructor on July 1, 2016. Oren teaches at Crowder College’s Career and Technical Education Center where he teaches both secondary and post-secondary students. Semester after semester we have witnessed Oren’s strength of character, his ability to provide a positive and engaging learning experience, and the powerful and encouraging influence he has had on his students.
Classified Staff Employee of the year went to Paula Kinkade. Kinkade started her Crowder College career on September 23, 1996 as the Administrative Assistant for Transport Training. Over her 25 years at Crowder College, Paula has dedicated her service to the team of Transport Training and the mission of Crowder College. It is because of Paula the Transport Training department runs smoothly. Professional Staff Employee of the Year went to Donna Talbert. Talbert began her career at Crowder College in Human Resources on September 12, 2004. Donna started her career as the Payroll Assistant and shortly after began the role of Benefits Specialist. Donna’s calm demeanor, compassion and servant attitude amplify Crowders Mission all while accomplishing any task and crisis at hand.
