General
Work-Study Job Descriptions
Agriculture
Work involves physical labor on the Crowder College instructional farm,
caring for livestock, repairing fences and out buildings, etc. Students
best suited for these job assignments would either have prior farm experience
and/or be studying agriculture.
General Custodial
These students perform custodial services on the Crowder College campus.
The work is physical and normal working hours are in the evening.
Grounds Keeping
Students working in grounds keeping should be able to operate mowing equipment.
The work is seasonal with the growing season, but grounds keeping work-study
students are usually assigned to general custodial work during the winter.
Secretarial/Clerical
Office and clerical positions normally require typing and people skills.
Some computer knowledge is also preferable. Assignments include faculty
offices, administrative offices, library, and bookstore. Confidentiality
of records and information is required, as well as a display of professional
behavior.
Other
In addition to the above assignments, occasional specialty openings occur
from time to time. Students with special abilities who are requested by
college employees for special assignments have included photography, printing,
tutors, science laboratories, and vocational shop assistants.
