Public Speaking

The ability to address groups effectively is one of the most necessary skills today. Too often this area of communication is overlooked, but most businesses demand that employees at all levels be able to present themselves and their material with confidence, polish, and ease.

Spch 101:
Fundamentals of Speech  is an introduction to the fundamentals of effective public speaking and listening. The course is designed to develop confidence in self-expression and interpersonal communications. Speech 101 includes preparing, organizing, and delivering oral messages within a variety of real life situations of communication.
Spch 220:Introduction to Sign Language Students learn and practice manual communication and sign language while discussing cultural context of learning improvement. While designed as an elective, new perspectives of communication are gained through this opportunity. Speech 221: 
Sign Language II
Students receive 
advanced skills in manual 
communication and signing, perfecting non-verbal 
communication for use in career and community.
