Crowder College is looking for retired police officers, off-duty police officers or seasoned security staff to serve as a full-time security officer atCrowder College Neosho.  The campus security officer will ensure employees, students, and visitors are safe, facilities are secure, and officers respond quickly and competently to all emergencies to include the FEMA Shelter.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be minimum of 21 years of age

Job Description

As program director, this position is responsible for all aspects of the Cardiac Sonography program, including the budget, faculty hiring decisions, maintaining accreditation, providing subject matter expertise, curriculum development, instruction, and program evaluation to determine the effectiveness of education. Course delivery may include both face-to-face and online modalities. The Program Director is a full-time faculty member and reports to the Director of Allied Health.

The officer will provide campus-wide public safety and security for college staff, students, and visitors, monitoring and patrolling campus and providing safety and emergency assistance, as needed.

Job Description

The Traveling Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Instructor is part of a new initiative, Enact Rural Impact: Adult Education Pathways Upward, by Crowder College Adult Education and Literacy. This role focuses on expanding adult education opportunities in rural communities across Barry, Dade, Lawrence, Newton, McDonald, and Stone counties.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Travel-Based Instruction and Support: The instructor will travel to rural communities by appointment, meeting students in locations such as libraries or churches. These are partner sites where Crowder College AEL does not currently offer in-person classes.
  • Student Enrollment and Engagement: The instructor enrolls students in “virtual live” classes and in the GED Academy online curriculum and guides them through both processes. They will continue to meet with students by appointment to provide ongoing support, tutoring, and encouragement.
  • Building Learning Communities: A significant goal is to establish small “learning communities” within each town, fostering peer support among students who otherwise might not have access to AEL classes.
  • In-Person and Remote Teaching: The instructor provides one-on-one or small group instruction, both in person and remotely if needed, to help students develop literacy and academic skills.
  • Assessments and Progress Tracking: The instructor administers and interprets TABE (Tests of Adult Basic Education) assessments to evaluate student progress and needs.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain confidential participant files, student folders, and classroom records accurately in the program. Maintain, complete, and submit confidential participant files, documents in student work folders, and keep student records accurately. Ensure that each student’s information is documented correctly in our LACES data system.
  • Community Outreach and Partnerships: On days without student appointments, the instructor may visit rural communities to connect with local organizations and recruit new students. This outreach helps build awareness and support for the program.
  • Collaboration and Support: They may also assist other AEL or English Language Learner (ELL) instructors in a classroom setting if needed.

Graphics Software Instructor

Adjunct instructor needed that is adept in knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. This instructor should be able to lead students to do the following:

  • Determine copyright, permissions, and licensing required to use specific content.

Photo Editing Course Instructor

Adjunct instructor needed that is adept in knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. This instructor should be able to lead students to do the following:

  • Demonstrate proficiency using Adobe Photoshop to create, alter, manage, and export digital images and creative illustrations while applying those skills toward corporate or small business development and promotional scenarios.

Pay is $525 per credit hour for adjunct teaching. Master’s degree required and it is preferred that the Master’s degree be in the subject area, if not in the subject area then must have at least 18 graduate hours in the subject area. Teaching experience would be a plus, and knowledge of Canvas will be helpful.
